Q: How many psychologists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Only 1, however, the lightbulb must WANT to change.

ah just more evidence of the work "speeding up during the time of the end".
i helped build this hall.
was appointed as an ms & elder there.
No better feeling than donating for years to assist the local congregation only to watch your hall get sold.
All your contributions over the years amount to nothing and then the kicker is from now on, you will have to drive an extra 30 mins each way to attend your shiny new cong that has been merged with 3 others.
I was actually sorry to see Vincent Toole caught up in all this to be honest.
Maybe its just nostalgic memories from a kids point of view but out of all the C.O.'s I ever had ( and I had a lot due to moving around a lot while growing up) he was by far my favourite. I remember him from the mid 80's as intelligent and charismatic and the guy gave great talks.
Those from Australia might recall an audio tape of a public talk that did the rounds back in the day called 'The master craftsman' that Vincent Toole gave. It was an interesting historical talk based around the blending of paganism and Christianity.
I hardly recognised him on the ARC vids.
i have been doing the accounts for our local congregation now for 3 years.
i just thought, wow our local expenses total just $500 a month, yet we have an ongoing expense each month of $600 for the kh expansion work(ie:world wide work), $60 for the traveling overseer insurance and $54 for the local kingdom hall insurance, in addition to the operating committee expense of $525.. so, our one congregation sends $714 a month plus what the publishers contribute towards the world wide work usually between $600 to $700 per month.
in other words, we are at least sending, for our little congregation of 75 publishers, $1314 a month!
In Australia at the moment our exchange rate is only at about 70 cents against the US dollar. That's down about 40% from its peak 3 yrs ago.
That's 40% less US dollars the wts is receiving from Australia even though donations in AUS dollars haven't changed.
If you factor in the exchange rates of other countries I would guess it would be nowhere near 1 billion USD per year.
given: the prophecy is true.. what did jesus mean?
i have an app that alerts me of any earthquake all over the world.
since i got the app, it is one earthquake after another all over the world.
The USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year. Many go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small magnitudes. The NEIC now locates about 50 earthquakes each day, or about 20,000 a year.Jan 13, 2015

question about the number 2,520 and the book “new heavens and a new earth” (1953).
there is a footnote on page 138 of this book; it has to do with the number 2,520 being a perfect number and the result of multiplying the four perfect numbers in sequence.
i have done the math and it works.
I am no mathematician but a 5 min google search tells me that it depends whose definition a 'perfect number' you are using.
According to Wikipedia the number 2520 is not a perfect number because the first 4 perfect numbers are :
6
28
496
8128.
The definition of a perfect number is:
In number theory, a perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper positive divisors, that is, the sum of its positive divisors excluding the number itself (also known as its aliquot sum). Equivalently, a perfect number is a number that is half the sum of all of its positive divisors (including itself) i.e. σ1(n) = 2n.
This definition is ancient, appearing as early as Euclid's Elements (VII.22) where it is called τέλειος ἀριθμός (perfect, ideal, or complete number). Euclid also proved a formation rule (IX.36) whereby is an even perfect number whenever is what is now called a Mersenne prime. Much later, Euler proved that all even perfect numbers are of this form.[1] This is known as the Euclid–Euler theorem.
It is not known whether there are any odd perfect numbers, nor whether infinitely many perfect numbers exist.
However, if you are trying to attach an esoteric meaning to a number that fits your agenda, then maybe anything can be a 'perfect number'.
some christians explanation for evil in the world.
i came across this "serpent seed".. it claims that cain was the offspring of eve and the talking serpent (sorry i'm lmao while.
writing this) that christians much later identified as satan.
If you also factor in the story of Lilith and Adam, sounds like it was a wild time back then.
i've studied and observed several lottery patterns.
this one is now gone so nothing lost by revealing it.
i had a certain history search and noticed that almost each week the past few months a list of numbers not used recently were being used 1 per week.
Yep, you got lucky.
The study of chance, risk and chaos theory is a fascinating and complex line of study. I can recommend a book called 'against the gods, the remarkable story of risk '.
Basically, unless you are god, you cannot predict a random pattern of numbers similar to a lottery draw.
Most gambling systems, like counting cards in blackjack give the gambler minuscule improvement in his chances to avoid catastrophic failure.
Someone else in this thread also mentioned large groups of numbers, which are needed to have any chance to recognise any sort of pattern.
Insurance companies use these numbers to calculate how much risk they can afford based on the probability of a particular event happening once or reoccurring.
look at the governing body.
none of them believe now what the wts believed back when they were born and later baptized.. so why aren't they disfellowshipped for apostasy?.
simple - because the true beliefs are always taken to mean whatever they currently consider them to be.. think about it - they can never be apostates because whatever they decide to believe becomes "the truth" and anyone not believing it is then guilty of apostasy, even if they believe things the wts has taught them all their lives.. if you do believe in the bible and jesus story, do you think this is what he intended?
Unfortunately they take it one step further and preach all current teachings as "truth from God" to the whole world.
The only problem is that truth never changes.
Belief is not the same as truth.
Sincerity is not the same as truth.
Faith is not the same as truth.
so i'm reading the book "the atheist book of bible stories" and something just occurred to me.. noahs ark rested on the top of mount ararat.
how the hell did all the land animals, dinosaurs and other monsters get to ground level?
did noah and his family just push them off the mountain and hope for the best?
I read recently on this site a point that I had never thought about; that the Egyptian empire overlapped the year of the flood.
The hieroglyphics therefore, are proof in pictures of the diversity of animals on the earth at that time. Without even researching I can name a few different types of snake that appear on the hieroglyphics, the horned viper and cobra.
According to some literalists, Noah only took one kind of each animal, so if he only took a Cobra for example, to represent the snake world, then how on earth were there various types of snakes, already existing, the instant after Noah left the ark according to the hieroglyphics? Hieroglyphics depict lion hunts and herds of animals like gazelles etc , so it suggests there was always an abundance of animals without interruption.
